Abstract
The Beijing Tianjin Hebei region is an important urban agglomeration in China's regional coordinated development strategy, with high economic output and carbon emissions. After the strategic goal of "peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060" (dual carbon target) was proposed, it is worth exploring in depth the coupling relationship between economic development changes and carbon emissions in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region to ensure green and low-carbon development. Based on this, this article constructs a series of evaluation models. Firstly, the economic development and carbon emissions in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region are analyzed. Then, the carbon balance and carbon carrying capacity are calculated and evaluated. Finally, the coupling degree between economic development and carbon emissions in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region is analyzed. Finally, suggestions for green and low-carbon development are proposed while ensuring steady economic growth. Research has found that there are significant differences in the economy and carbon emissions between the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region. Beijing's GDP is growing rapidly, with a high per capita income and a developed tertiary industry; Tianjin's GDP growth is slow, with per capita ranking second; Hebei has a high total GDP but low per capita and high carbon emissions. Hebei needs to upgrade its industries, develop service and emerging industries, learn from Beijing Tianjin technology, control carbon emissions, and achieve green development. The degree of coupling and coordination in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region has increased, but there are significant fluctuations in Hebei. It is necessary to strengthen the research and management of pollution reduction and carbon reduction technologies to ensure stable and coordinated development.
