Theoretical Reflection on the Study of Common Prosperity: Research Status, Dynamic Evaluation and Forward-looking Conception

Common prosperity is the essential requirement of socialism and an important feature of the new path to Chinese modernization. The Fifth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Party's "14th Five-Year Plan" and the 2035 long-term goal proposed that the common prosperity should achieve more obvious substantive progress. In August 2021, the 10th meeting of the Central Finance and Economics Committee again focused on solidly promoting common prosperity. For this reason, it is of great significance to trace the research dynamics of Chinese academia on common prosperity. This article attempts to analyze 60 common wealth articles published in domestic high-level journals from 2002 to 2021, and proposes an integrated overall analysis framework. First, it summarizes the research situation of common prosperity in the academic circles in recent years, and puts forward the problems to be solved. Secondly, it reviews from five aspects: (1) the definition and enrichment of the concept of common prosperity; (2) the formation and development process of the idea of common prosperity in China; (3) the theoretical and practical progress of common prosperity since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China; (4) Common prosperity realization problems and realization paths; (5) Common prosperity measurement standards and measurement indicators. Finally, this article combines the future characteristics of China's affluent society and puts forward a forward-looking concept of common prosperity. In the new era and new development stage, in order to deepen the research on common prosperity, it is necessary to deepen the theoretical foundation, comparative research, system research, interdisciplinary research, applied research and empirical research of common prosperity, and construct a scientific indicator system to expand the research perspective.
