The Dilemma and Countermeasures of China's Higher Education Internationalization: from the Perspective of the Risk Society Theory

  • When analyzing the external crisis from the perspective of the theory of risk society, we can find that global risks affect higher education exchange activities, instrumental rationalism leads to intensified competition for knowledge and talent, and multiple value conflicts lead to "organized irresponsibility". China's higher education is faced with the lack of characteristics and difficulties in paradigm transformation. China's universities should fully recognize the situation, improve the risk prevention system, enhance cultural self-confidence and strengthen the construction of independent talent training system. China's universities should also take the shared value as the guidance, form an international network of multiple negotiations, deal with the dialectical relationship between enhancing strength and expanding openness, and promote the new development of internationalization of higher education.
