The Literary Map and Grammar Characteristics of Prose Schools in Song and Yuan Dynasties

  • In the view of space orientation, the literary territory of prose schools in Song and Yuan Dynasties can be divided into two parts: north and south. From the point of view of the conflict and fusion of the north and south literature, the literati group of Luoyang in Northern Song Dynasty played a key role in the evolution of Northern Song Dynasty. From the point of view of the history of poetry and prose innovation, the spirit of internalizing and discussing the classics in the Eastern School of Northern Song Dynasty is a new force in the poetry and prose innovation movement. After Nandu, the cultural center gradually moved southward, and the southern part also presented the cultural school landscape in different regions of Jiangxi and eastern Zhejiang, which was mainly caused by the special background of Southern Song Dynasty. From the literary territory of Song and Yuan dynasties, there are also east-west trends. The "east" here mainly refers to the southeast, especially in Fujian, and the "west" refers to Sichuan literature alone. The literary map of Song and Yuan Dynasties was constructed according to the three dimensions of time evolution, regional pattern and writer’s viewpoint.
