International Law and Chinese International Discourse Based on a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind

This article argues that International discourse is the power of a country to persuade and influence the words and deeds of other countries, which involves nearly all aspects of international affairs. Most of the disputes over international discourse are at the legal level, while international law is an international legal discourse, which is an important way to win and enhance a country’s international discourse. A community with a shared future for mankind is a vision of human development and an ideal pursued by people in this process. The concept of a community with a shared future for mankind also embodies shared weal and woe. It is a realistic expression of the living conditions of mankind. Its five values are consistent with international law, which is the means to achieve a community of shared future for mankind, and it is the purpose of international law. Based on this concept, to enhance international discourse should firstly adhere to the five principles of peaceful coexistence and the values of a community with a shared future for mankind, and then hold an open and inclusive and win-win cooperation as the direction. In order to construct Chinese international discourse that spreads Chinese ideas and wisdom, international legal discourse should be used based on the practice of Chinese international law.
