New Trends in Global Maritime Security Governance and China’s Options

  • As an important component and unique form of global governance, Global maritime security governance has a long history and is evolving. Its implementation and effectiveness are the core and key to the stability of the maritime order and sustainable development of the oceans. By tracking the recent development of global maritime security governance in politics, economy, science and technology, ecology and other fields, we can see that pressure and motivation, opportunities and challenges exist in the whole process and whole field of global maritime security governance. Global maritime security governance needs to meet the practical needs of human social development, enhance the positive tension of the new situation, and move forward continuously. As an important participant and active contributor to global maritime security governance, China needs to take new strategies and practice in the new era, to deeply participate in global maritime security governance and promote the international community to jointly build a “community of maritime destiny”, make contribution and practical assistance to global maritime security governance.
