A Scalar Model of “Lian(连)” Construction Based on Information Theory

This paper builds a scalar model of “Lian”(连) construction based on information theory, and analyzes the related problems such as “benchmarking extreme”, “universal quantification” and “affirmative and negative”. It is found that “Lian”(连) construction refers to the relative extreme term rather than the absolute extreme term. The domain of “Lian”(连) construction may be the whole set or subset of pragmatic scales. The transformation of positive and negative forms of “Lian”(连) construction is restricted by many factors.
