Energy Economic Efficiency, Energy Consumption Structure and Regional Economic GrowthAn empirical research of spatial panel data in the Pearl River Delta

  • This paper constructs a theoretical analysis framework to study the influencing factors of energy economic efficiency and its spatial and temporal dual change laws. It is found that energy economic efficiency has significant spatial spillover effect. Economic growth, industrial structure, energy consumption structure, fixed asset investment and other factors not only significantly affect the energy economic efficiency of the region, but also exert influence on, through spatial spillover effect, the energy economic efficiency of the surrounding areas. The relationship between energy economic efficiency and economic growth presents an inverted U-shaped curve. After crossing the inflection point, the energy consumption per unit economic volume starts to decrease, policy control and per capita fixed asset investment have a significant positive effect on energy economic efficiency. Compared with coal consumption, the power consumption has a more significant positive effect on energy economic efficiency. Finally, it provides some policy suggestions for improving energy economic efficiency and optimizing energy consumption structure.
