Study on Extraterritorial Application of China's Energy Law

The Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC proposed to accelerate the construction of a legal system of extraterritorial application of China's laws, and to ensure good governance with good law. The laws and regulations of extraterritorial application of China's energy law, as an important part of the legal system of extraterritorial application of China's laws, are of practical significance for advancing the construction of a legal system for international energy cooperation including the "Belt and Road Initiative". This article defines the connotation and extension of the extraterritorial application of China's energy law, elaborates the legislative causes and objects of the extraterritorial application of it, discusses the jurisdictional basis of its extraterritorial application, analyzes the problems faced by its extraterritorial application, and presents suggestions on its extraterritorial application, with a view to provide legislative references for the extraterritorial application of China's energy law.
