A Study of Mao Zedong's Youth Thought

Domestic scholars' research on Mao Zedong's youth thought mainly focuses on the development process, formation conditions, main content, distinctive features, significance value and the comparison with the youth thoughts of the core leaders of the central committee of the past generations. It is generally believed that the Marxism-Leninism youth thought is the theoretical basis of Mao Zedong's youth thought. The experience of participating, organizing and leading youth movements and youth work is the practical basis. And creativity is its distinctive feature. There is no special study on Mao Zedong's youth thoughts in foreign academic circles. A small number of documents is related to Mao Zedong's life experience during his youth and the "going to the countryside" movement. At the same time, there are problems in the research that the basic concepts of the research objects are not clear, research questions need to be supplemented and deepened, and the research methods are single. On this basis, the future research work is prospected from the perspectives of enriching research materials, mining research content, and improving research methods.
