Abstract: The report of the 20th Party Congress clearly states that in the decade of the new era we have developed a range of transformative practices and made a series of breakthroughs and landmark advances. We have withstood risks, challenges, and trials in the political, economic, ideological, and natural domains, secured historic achievements and seen historic changes in the cause of the Party and the country, and taken China on a new journey toward building a modern socialist country in all respects. We have demonstrated China’s sense of duty as a responsible major country, actively participating in the reform and development of the global governance system, and China’s international influence, appeal, and power to shape have risen markedly. As an important carrier of future global governance leadership, cities should thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th Party Congress, completely, accurately and comprehensively carry out the new development philosophy, adhere to the people-centeredness, continuously promote the comprehensive material abundance and the comprehensive development of people, and unswervingly follow the path of urban development and construction of productive development, affluent living and good ecology. We should take the path of exchange and intercommunication among cities, fully promote world peace and development, carry forward the common values of all mankind, promote people of all countries to respect the diversity of world civilizations, and create a better future for mankind.
