Abstract:
Optimizing the business environment serves as a critical measure to stimulate market vitality, address uncertainties, and propel high-quality development. Through the bibliometric analysis of CiteSpace, we examine the structural characteristics, research hotspots, frontiers, and thematic changes in business environment research conducted at home and abroad since 2013. The results show that while the focus of Chinese and foreign research content differs, their direction converges. Secondly, the thematic logic of the research is related and evolutionary. International research concentrates on internal corporate governance and capabilities, business model transformation, supply chain management and resilience, and the external business environment. In contrast, Domestic studies focus primarily on international experience and China's path selection, determinants and optimization pathways of business environments, the relationship between business environment and enterprise performance, and the regional disparity paths of optimizing business environment. Building on these insights, we propose three priority agendas for future inquiry. Firstly, future studies will emphasize theoretical depth and empirical investigations. Secondly, there is a necessity to address emerging challenges in response to economic realities. Additionally, the significance of interdisciplinary methodologies and innovative applications of big data require greater attention.
