Abstract:
Based on the theory of Stylistic-register Grammar that has emerged in recent years, this paper analyzes the phenomenon of distance adjustment in press conferences from the register perspective of communicative distance. This paper selected two kinds of the answer to reporters' request of the news offices of the State Council Information Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Firstly it summarizes some forms of closing and driving the distance by a large number of corpus analysis, and then uses the linguistic distance theorems of Stylistic-register grammar to try to make some explanation. The result shows that local adjustment of communicative distance is allowed under the overall stylistic characteristics of a particular text.
