Abstract: Risk communication is one of the effective strategies and approaches to prevent and resolve NIMBY conflicts in industrial projects. Developed countries attach great importance to the risk communication of industrial project NIMBY conflict, and the effect is obvious. Through the analysis of several industrial project NIMBY conflicts in China, it is found that there are risk communication problems in China, which are mainly manifested in the lack of early communication, the rash and passive after the outbreak, and the failure of communication in the end. This is due to the role opposition, unequal status, lack of communication skills and improper communication channels between the government and the public. To get out of this dilemma, we can improve the effect of risk communication by improving the level of trust, weakening the interest relationship, selecting appropriate channels and strengthening communication skills, so as to achieve the purpose of resolving the NIMBY conflict of industrial projects.
