Abstract: As a national-level new area, Xiongan New Area is an important historical strategic choice, a national event and a thousand-year plan. The construction of Xiongan New Area plays an important role in narrowing the development gap between regions and promoting the coordinated development of regions. Through the analysis of the mechanism, problems and paths of the impact of the construction of Xiongan New Area on regional coordinated development, it is found that the construction of Xiongan New Area affects regional coordinated development through radiation diffusion effect, policy synergy effect and superposition effect of institutional innovation. At the same time, there are some problems in the construction of Xiongan New Area, such as conflicts of interest with surrounding areas, restrictions on radiation diffusion effect, system innovation and imperfect policy promotion mechanism. Therefore, we should constantly change the traditional investment-driven economic development model, vigorously promote the institutional innovation of Xiongan New Area, and promote the coordinated development of the region.
